Villa Romantic Hotel in Contadora Island

There are many islands in Panama but there is only one that really deserves to be called a “real jewel” the Island of Contadora. It belongs to the Pearl Islands, which consist of ninety bigger, and a hundred and thirty smaller islands all surrounded by innumerable white sandy beaches.

You can get there by plane in less than 20 minutes from Panama City.

What first catches the attention of every visitor are the white sandy beaches, coconut trees and the crystal clear water of the ocean.

The surface of the Island of Contadora is about 300 hectare. The island, which measures 4 by 1 km, is part of the Pearl Islands Archipelago.

There are 13 sandy beaches, 5 of which are especially worth visiting: the Playa Larga, the Playa Galeon, the Playa Executive as well as the Playa Cacique.

The latter is definitely the most beautiful beach on the island and that is also where Villa Romantica is located. The only beach where you can bath naked in Panama is also found in contadora and is called Playa Sueca.

In the last decades the island has gotten quite a lot of attention. End of the 70s the Persian Shah Mohamed Reza Pahlevi lived on Contadora Island in exile together with his wife.

Many rich people from Panama and other countries from all over the world have holiday homes on the island of Contadora. It’s a great area for observing nature, scuba diving, fishing and the most exclusive tourist destination in Panama.

Playa Cacique

Of all the wonderful sandy beaches which can be found of Contadora, Playa Cacique is the second largest and most beautiful beach.
