Uaguinega Dolphin Island Lodge is an eco-tourist hotel located in front of the Island of Achutupu in the Kuna Yala Archipelago of Panama.
Located about a 50 minutes flight from Panama City, Panama, Uaguinega Dolphin Island Lodge is a private island that represents culture, comfort and peace. An ideal place for your honeymoon or adventure tourism.

What does Uaguinega mean?
Uaguinega comes from the Kuna language, where Uagui means dolphin and Nega means house, together meaning house of the dolphin. In some seasons you can see dolphins from the lodge.
In Mamitupu airport, you will be collected by the Uaguinega hotel staff and transferred by speedboat to the lodge. The short trip will take only 3 minutes. You will be greeted by hotel staff that since your arrival will make you feel at home.

Uaguinega Dolphin Island Lodge has 11 Standard Cabins and 3 Junior Suites Cabins which have solar panels and energy all night. The Standard Cabins have electricity from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm, the rest of the night an emergency lamp will be available.

The lodge has a small area in the center of the hotel to play Volley Ball and Football. You can take a nap on the comfortable hammocks that are in strategic locations within the hotel.
Delicious seafood will be served to your table for you to enjoy a special lunch and dinner. The breakfasts are complete and include fresh fruits.
You may appreciate or buy some the Kuna crafts or Molas inside the hotel.

Facilities in Uaguinega Dolphin Island Lodge
Internet Cafe: the cabins are the only ones in Kuna Yala providing satellite Internet service, so that you can check your mail as you would on your own home.
Bar: in the hotel you have the opportunity to enjoy your favorite drinks in the bar “Camibnega” overlooking the sea. Also enjoy music, excellent service and attention.
Hammocks: Uaguinega Dolphin Island Lodge has a resting place surrounded by palm trees and hammocks under the tropical sun or at night the stars observed.
Volley Ball and Football: The lodge has a grassy field for outdoor sports like Volley Ball and Football.
Beach: The hotel facilities include a small white sand beach for you to enjoy the sea without having to take a tour.
Restaurant: You can enjoy seafood specialties from the area of Kuna Yala and international cuisine as well. Uaguinega Dolphin Island Lodge has two excellent chef, they will make you taste the most exotic and varied cuisine.

Bonfires: The hotel lends its facilities to make bonfires for sharing with family and friends, the hotel provides everything you need to do this type of activity.

Rates are per person per night. Rates include:
Food (full breakfast, lunch and dinner of seafood: fresh fish, shrimp, prawns, crabs and lobsters). Optional: chicken, beef steak or vegetarian dishes.

- Visit to the indigenous community of Achutupu, Mamitupu and Aligandí to know the culture, customs and traditions of the Kuna, also understand their form of government.
- Tour to Cainora or Soskandup beach.
- Bird-watching tour in Kuna Yala Archipelago .

- Tour of the Kuna cemetery to observe a part of the Kuna culture, how they bury their loved ones.

To get to Mamitupu in the Kuna Yala Archipelago you must take a local flight from Air Panama or Aeroperlas. Panama Travel Group is an authorized agent and will coordinate this with your reservations.
Tours and Activities (included):
You can enjoy a variety of tours that take you to explore both the Kuna Indian culture as well as the flora and fauna located in the San Blas Archipelago of Panama. You may also enjoy a wonderful white sand beaches and snorkeling around the different islands of the archipelago.
Islands in the Kuna Yala Archipelago: Among the activities are the tours to different islands in the Kuna Yala Archipelago like Achutupu, Ailigandi, and Mamitupu, for you to learn about the Kuna culture, customs, traditions and politics. You may also buy some crafts or the famous molas as well known worldwide for their color and beauty.

Beaches: tour to the different beaches of Cainora or Soskandup, both have white sand and crystal clear waters of the Caribbean Sea.

Kuna Cemetery: On this tour you will see the ritual burial of the Kuna, as they prepare for the ceremony, which dates from their ancestors.
Birds and wild flowers nature tours in the Kuna Yala Archipelago: This tour includes a thorough exchange with nature, you will see a variety of birds from different regions who have immigrated to our country, many of them endangered. The flora in Kuna Yala is one of the most important attractions, there are lots of wildflowers and herbs of all kinds. Many of these plants are used today by the Kuna to cure various diseases.

DESCRIPTION OF OPTIONAL TOURS (not included in package)
Tour of Ustupu and Ogobsucun: travel in a fast panga (small motorboat) 20 minutes there and 20 minutes return trip. We visit the community to observe its culture and development, just as the main attraction tourists visit the Kuna jewelers where you can buy high quality gold cheaply.
In Ogobsucun, which is the community around Ustupu, Kuna Indians can be seen dancing performed by both women and men of the community. Both communities have more than 8000 people combined.

Pine Island and Malatupu Tour: The tour will travel to Pine Island in quick panga, one hour there and one hour return trip. In Pine Island we can find beautiful white sand beaches ideal for snorkeling and see how the Kuna bury their dead.
In Mulatupu, you can visit the community that has about 3000 people, this community has a general basic education through the ninth grade and this island is connected to the mainland by a bridge on stilts over the sea with a distance of approximately one hundred meters.
Fishing Tours in Kuna Yala: These tours can be done two ways:
1. Traditionally: It is done in Kuna canoe with sails, ideal to catch small fish and yellowtail snappers.
2. Offshore Trolling: In a motor boat with fishing pole, fish for grouper, tuna and saws.

Playon Chico Tour: Visit the community that has about 4000 people, observe their culture and customs in this community which has more Western influence. You can also visit Aritupu Island (Isla Iguana), with countless coconut trees, and tourists can bathe on the beach and go snorkeling.
Snorkeling and Diving Tour: This tour is more about 2 kilometers outside the hotel Uaguinega, in this place you can find coral banks of unimaginable beauty. Tourists can appreciate the beauty of corals and take underwater photos.

Waterfall Tour: This tour takes an hour to get there and an hour trip back, because it is located on the mainland. You will see a river with clear water and a waterfall. Here we find a large variety of wildlife and flora that leads to a world away from the pollution of the planet, where the tourist can breathe fresh air as if in paradise.
