The Canal House is elegant, tropical and relaxed, with just the right amount of sophistication. Originally built in 1893, Canal House was completely restored in 2005.
The house is over four thousand square feet, with three bedrooms, a library and a large living-dining room. If you need to entertain, Canal House‘s main floor can host formal dinners of up to fourteen guests and cocktail receptions for up to thirty.

Canal House is located in Panama’s oldest neighborhood, adjacent to the newly restored Interoceanic Canal Museum and steps from the City’s best restaurants, cafes and cultural institutions. Casco Antiguo is walking distance from all of the key government ministries and equidistant from both the banking center and the Canal Zone (less than ten minutes to each) making the hotel an ideal base for business travelers.
Canal House is the first hotel in Central America to receive the Green Globe Certification. The hotel has been featured in international publications, such as the New York Times, GQ, USA Today.
Services
Canal House was created to provide a level of personalized service that traditional hotels cannot match. Whether you want to host a private function, hit the town and leave the kids with us or just stay home and browse the house library, the hotel’s staff is at your service. They care about your entire stay in Panama, not just the part that you spend with the hotel. If there is anything we can do to make it more pleasurable, please just ask.
