Panama Fish Species
Estuary Fish: Estuary fish congregate in deep holes. Fishing the low and rising tide in these areas is good for good catches.
Slope Fish: Slope or bottom fish are fish types that live deep in the water and off the continental shelf of Panama.
Demersal Fish (Bottom feeding fish): Demersal fish type is of commercial interest and are mostly located to the upper 200m. Demersal fish is mostly located in the near shore rocky bottom areas of the Panama gulf coast. Some of the demersal fish you will find in a panama gulf sport fishing charter are groupers, sappers, jacks, pompanos, corvine among others.
Pelagic Fish (Surface feeding or free swimming fish): Pelagic fish are usually fish that live alone or in schools at or near the surface or the shallower areas of the continental waters of the Gulf of Panama. What to bring?
When it comes to clothing, you can pack light for Panama’s tropical climate . A washer and dryer are available and the staff can also do your laundry. We suggest you bring the following:
- Long pants and sport shirt (with fish on it!) for your air travel and when in Panama City.
- Two pairs of fishing shorts and two fishing shirts (long pants and long-sleeve shirts are advisable fishing attire for anyone with fair skin).
- Alight weight rain jacket for fishing (April to December).
- Your lucky fishing cap or a broad-rimmed “Panamanian” style fishing hat.
- Finger tape for added comfort when battling big game fish.
- Other items to pack include a swimsuit, passport, sun block, sun glasses, lip balm, deck shoes, camera, favorite lures and flies, any movies or CD’s you enjoy, reading material, extra prescription glasses, and any personal items you might need.

A: Every morning the weather is checked before going out on the boat. If a storm is in the forecast, the trip will be cancelled and you will have the option of rescheduling the trip.
Q: Does the crew speak English?
A: Yes.
Q: Is hotel pickup provided?
A: Yes, roundtrip transportation from your hotel to the fishing pier is provided, on your arrival you can decide the time that you will be pick up.
Q: What time do the boats leave?
A: 45 minutes after you are picked up at the hotel.
The full-day charter includes the use of the boat, fuel, lunch, fruit, soft drinks, water (6 bottles), beer (1 case), equipment, and your captain and mate. The boat has an Ipod deck.
