SAN BLAS ARCHIPELAGO


This virgin archipelago, one of the few in the world, is situated along the Panamanian Caribbean Coast, constituted of more than 300 corals islands, offers a spectacular landscape of  coconut trees, white sandy beaches, and an ocean with all shades  blue and turquoise glittering in the sun. All these islands are surrounded with a coral gate, where you will be able to discover the marvels of the seafloors perfectly preserved.  Holland Keys, Lemon Keys, Coco Bandera, Iguana, Salar, are the main archipelagos visited in your cruise. Close to the coast you will find the islands villages  populated by the Kunas Indians.

DISCOVER THE MARINE LIFE

In the San Blas Islands, the ocean floors offer numerous varieties of  living corals.

In this archipelago you will see thousands of multicolored tropical fishes, including southern  stingray , stripes spotted eagle ray, turtles,  groupers, snappers, barracudas and other for the adepts of fishing, without forgetting a small visit to our friends  the dolphins.

THE COAST AND RIVERS

The islands villages  are all situated close to the coast,  since this facilitates their ability to get a stock of soft water. The Kuna Indians take sweet water from the river with their typical boats constructed in a trunk of tree, because there is not sweeter water than in the San Blas Islands. The coast is completely virgin and destitute of all civilization. It is possible to make a small tour on the river (depending on the season).

FEATURES OF THE BOAT

The Mandragore is a Trimaran unsinkable of more than 16 meters long and 9 meters wide. The boat is designed to take  you very close to the beaches  (depth 3 feet). To reach the islands, The Mandragore possesses 2 tenders and a sea kayak with 2 places. With the boat’s size and stability, it offers you more than 120 m2 of space for your pleasure and relaxation, that you will appreciate.

The sailboat has a complete electric autonomy (10 solar panels), converter 110/220 Volts to charge  cameras, a water maker very important in the San Blas Islands. 2  refrigerators and freezer will permit you to appreciate cool drinks  with full security of the freshness of the food.

SPACE AND CONVIVIALITY

The meals are served in a cockpit of about 30 m2 of which a half is covered, allowing you to have your meals in the shelter of the sun with a table capable of welcome up 12 persons. The meals are composed essentially of products of the sea, fresh fish, lobsters, crabs, octopuses, vegetables and tropical fruits and of tasty desserts elaborated by Dominique your stewardess.

The interior of the sailboat is composed by a spacious and functional kitchen as well as a corner lounge, where you can relax in case of bad weather.

The trimaran possesses 6 double cabins of which 4 are available for rent (beds measure 140 x190) equipped with fans, with water-closets and a bathroom.

SOME INFORMATION TO PREPARE YOUR TRAVELS

  • Climate tropical with temperatures of 30/33 grades (86 – 90 F) along the year,  sea water temperature between 28/30 grades (80-86 F)
  • Trade winds period between mid December until the end of April.
  • No hurricane area.
  • Passport must be validity.
  • Daily flights for the San Blas Islands, departing every morning (6 a.m.), consider passing a night in a hotel in Panama City prior to departure.
  • Vaccinations: there are no vaccinations needed.
  • The money in  San Blas and Panama is the American dollar, it is preferable to carry dollars before the departure.
  • In San Blas Islands , there are no  bank, no automatic cashiers (ATMs).
  • To facilitate ranging aboard, it is recommended to carry flexible travel bag rather than of suitcase.
  • Don’t forget beach towels.
  • Don’t forget solar  products, because small grocery stores in  San Blas provided the basics foods only.
  • It is possible to sleep  in the Kunas cabins before or after your stay aboard the trimaran,  consult us for more  information.
  • Hospitalization and repatriation insurance, at the passenger’s expense.

Rent with skipper and stewardess:

This option just includes renting the whole boat, which fits maximum 8 people and does not include meals or beverages. It is possible for you to bring your own in coolers or to coordinate with the sailboat owners for them to provide food and beverages for an additional cost.

All inclusive:

Includes alcoholic drinks (aperitifs, wines, beer) sodas, juice  fruits, fresh lobsters, gigantic crabs,  octopuses… Please let us know in advance if you have any food allergies, preferences or are vegetarian.
