America: The English folk rock musical group, whose original components were Gerry Beckley, Dewey Bunnell and Dan Peek. The band was very popular with the early 1970s until the early 80s.
There best known songs include: A Horse with No Name, Sister Golden Hair, Ventura Highway, Tin Man, I Need You, and You Can Do Magic, among others. Seven of their albums were produced by famed producer George Martin of the Beatles
In 2004, the single A horse with no name appears in the game GTA. The band’s latest work, so far, is Here & Now, released on January 16, 2007, a studio album.
Roger Hodgson: Supertramp was a British progressive rock group who enjoyed great popularity in the late seventies and early 80s. Roger Hodgson is the principal songwriter and lead vocals on tracks like “The Logical Song, Dreamer, Give A Little Bit, Breakfast in America, It’s Raining Again, Take The Long Way Home, Do not Leave Me Now the hit song of “My Kind of Lady”.
Having left the band in 1983, Hodgson immediately begin his solo career, obtaining some initial success with the song “Had A Dream (Sleeping With the Enemy)” from his debut album In the Eye of the Storm, in 1984. In 1987, he released his second album Hodgson Hai Hai, but an accident breaks both of his wrists, makes it difficult for him to promote the album and his presence and relevance in the music scene is diluted.
In the 90 he edits the album Rites of passage, work that reflects their live performances. His latest album, Open the Door (2000), has been well received by critics and represents a return to sound of Supertramp.
