Panama will be the stage in 2010 of the first edition of the international exhibition Expo Tourism, aimed at promoting the development of the leisure industry in the country, organizers said.
The event, sponsored by Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP) and Tourism Chamber of Panama (CAMTUR) will meet on the 7 and 8 October 2010 in the ATLAPA Convention Center.
The CCIAP president, Adolfo Linares, said that through this initiative is to promote an activity with significant presence in the national economy.

The meeting will target airlines, hotel chains, travel agencies, cruise operators, tour operators and specialist media in this matter, among others.
In this first edition, Linares said, the call is directed to the area of Latin America and the Caribbean, in which the relevant contacts will be done.
For its part, the president of CAMTUR, Annette Cardenas stressed the importance of such an appointment to develop the sector, showing the country’s potential in this area.
The Tourism Expo will allow the principal managers of the industry at home and abroad the opportunity to establish business contacts and exchange their respective offerings.
