Since the beginning On the Reef Hotel has strived to provide a different experience in lodging when visiting Santa Catalina. This private and exclusive Club has 3 suites only. On the Reef Club offers guests ocean front privacy and comfort in this far off wilderness where most accomodations are very basic.

The hotel is right on the reef. Other Surf Camps are very nice but not on the Point. This is really On the Reef. The hotel enjoys 140 meters of oceanfront directly in front of the famous Point. Security 24- 7, full bar and restaurant exclusive to guests, making our Nalu super private.

First class seclusion in a lush tropical and rustic environment. A small forest keeps temperature down when it is very hot everywhere else. High on a cliff and directly in front of the wave there is no place like this.

On the Reef Hotel recently finished the roof over our deck offering our guest the only place in the whole area with a full restaurant and bar directly in front of the point. Other properties are in front of the break too but their facilities are not.

Relax in the deck and have a cocktail while you watch perfect waves peel off to a breathtaking sunset. The relaxing atmosphere and tropical surroundings are complemented by incredible vistas of the ocean and tropical Islands, stark contrasts… the green forested Islands floating on a sea of blue. When visiting Santa Catalina you will find this location very different from the rest.

Also the most amazing Sunsets you will ever see. Many famous film-makers have been taking powerful images back to the U.S. from On the Reef Hotel in Santa Catalina for over 30 years.

The small “Surf Club” is 100% Panamanian owned and operated so you won’t miss out in the cultural exprience either. Fish and sea food fresh from the sea will be cooked on the waterfront for you Panamanian style. On the Reef’s restaurant mantains Panamanian culinary recepies and traditions. Continental and health menus are also available. For guests only.

On the Reef Hotel caters to sport fishermen and divers too. Coiba Island nearby is rated as one of the best diving and fishing destinations in the world.

Accommodations

Since On the Reef Hotel in Santa Catalina is a very small hotel, we recommend advance booking to make sure you get the room which suits you would prefer.

The three U.S. style suites have Hot Water, Big A/C’s and satellite television.

Suite #2 – Matrimonial Suite – Bay View – Sleeps 2

Suite #3 – Surfer Buddies Suite – Forest View – Sleeps 4

REEF 5 – Independent  House, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen, large porch with hamocks overlooking the point and the blue Pacific.
