Los Quetzales Trail in Volcan Baru National Park is a dream destination for any bird watching fanatic. The name of the trail is given as a recognition to a very rare specie the magnificient quetzal, which is very common to see in this area. About 220 other bird species are also native to the area.
The trail unites the communities of Boquete and Cerro Punta, in a 4 to 6 hour hike through 10 km of tropical rainforest to cloud rainforest. The highland trail, roughly 2,500 vertical feet starts at the ANAM station in Cerro Punta or in Boquete, you get to pick which way you want to do the trail. Starting from Cerro Punta and descending to Boquete is the easier version of the trail. You may also do just part of the trail. Please let us know when reserving the trip your previous hiking experience or your physical conditions.
The tour includes all transportation costs, park entrance fees, lunch and a guide. Transportation is public, if you prefer private transportation, we can arrange this for an additional fee.
