KLM increases flight frequency between Amsterdam and Panama

On November 1, the dutch-french airline KLM will increase to six weekly flights between Amsterdam and Panama.

The company, which currently uses an aircraft with a capacity of 284 people, will fly from Sunday to Friday starting in November.

The new frequency is achieved after negotiations that included, by the State, giving the airline an incentive of one million dollars over the next three years through the Panama Tourism Authority. Another million dollars will be given with guidelines for advertising in specialized media to promote the destination of Panama.

With this agreement, the KLM airline is committed to having a flight for each day of the week starting in 2011. KLM, which began flying to Panama in 2008, reported that the sixth frequency will also have the shared flight codes with Copa Airlines.

The airline KLM, which merged in 2004 with Air France, reported profit in its first quarter 2010 (April to June) of $ 956 million.
