Casa Selva del Mar is just 15 minutes by boat from Bocas Town, on Isla Cristobal, the third largest island in the Bocas del Toro Archipelago. Casa Selva del Mar offers peace, quiet and privacy without being isolated. It’s the perfect getaway, a place to rest, or for a honeymoon.
Amenities: Casa Selva del Mar has solar powered (with backup generator) villas which are uniquely constructed for the environment, with doors on four sides that can be fully opened to the screened, wrap-around deck, with gorgeous ocean and jungle views on all sides. Each villa is beautifully furnished with teak accessories.
Each villa can sleep up to four people, with a queen size orthopedic bed in the bedroom and a comfortable double futon hideabed in the living room.
The villas have spacious bathrooms with double sinks.
Each villa is equipped with satellite TV with premium movie channels; and Casa Selva del Mar has an extensive library of movies and television shows on that you can play on your villa’s DVD.
Your villa also is equipped with a laptop computer with wireless internet access, and a prepaid cell phone you can use to send and receive phone calls to/from anywhere in the world (you buy the phone cards).
Food and Drink: The kitchen in your villa has everything you need to cook and eat, with seating and table service for four. Casa Selva del Mar provides continental breakfast fixings in your villa, including coffee, tea, milk, juice, delicious homemade muffins or banana bread, fresh seasonal fruit, granola, bread, jam and butter.
Casa Selva del Mar will take you to the local gourmet grocery on arrival, so you can stock up on food, beer, and wine for your stay for lunches, snacks, and dinner on your own. They also offer family style dinners in the owner’s home at reasonable rates, by appointment. They love to eat and love to cook, and you’ll delight in the barbecued marinated chicken and steaks, fish and seafood (local fisherman sometimes come by with fresh lobster for sale), pork chops, and other delicious homemade meals, always including something chocolate for dessert. Or, they can take you by boat to one of many restaurants on a neighboring island.
Activities: What can you do to occupy your time at Casa Selva del Mar? You can swim in the sparkling sea, float around on one of the rafts, or go snorkeling (the hotel supplies the snorkel and fins) at the coral reef right in front of your villa.
If you’re feeling adventurous, you can explore the island coastline in one of the four easy-to-use kayaks. Or you can go for a jungle walk on the paths in the 18 acres of pristine rain forest, where you might be lucky enough to see a sloth or an anteater. From the veranda of your villa, you will see parrots, toucans and many varieties of beautiful birds. Don’t forget your binoculars!
If you are interested in exploring the islands, Panama Travel Group can arrange many different kinds of tours, including multi-island snorkel, beach and dolphin-watching tours, or a visit to a wildlife reserve or nature park, including lunch and a visit to a local indigenous village. If you’d like to do some scuba diving, we’ll take you to town where you can take a scuba day tour, and pick you up in town at the end of the day.
Or you can just laze around on the dock, or in a hammock on the deck of your villa, and choose one of hundreds of books from the extensive library, or watch the latest HBO movie or one of the large collection of movies and TV shows on DVD.
