Before you leave Bocas del Toro you have to …

- View bottlenose dolphins in Dolphin Bay, a beautiful bay surrounded by mangroves, where you can see two Indian villages.

- Enjoy an afternoon at Boca del Drago beach. Kayaking, snorkeling, diving, fishing or just enjoy the sun on the golden sand beach and crystal clear water.

- Navigate around Bird Island, home to a wide variety of tropical birds. It is not allowed to land on the island, but try to approach it as much as possible to be able to appreciate its splendor.

- Travel in Cayos Zapatillas in the Bastimento Island National Marine Park, where you can enjoy a swim in its white sand beaches and snorkel in flat coral reefs. You get extra points if you camp during the nesting season of turtles (May to September).

- Explore the coral rock caves on Isla Colon, where you will see various types of bats. The caves will take you to the Bluff beach, a good beach for surfing. Remember to bring your own board since no one rents in that beach.

- Practice your photography skills in Starfish Beach, where you can find a variety of starfish on its crystalline and shallow waters.

- Diving or snorkeling in Hospital Point is an experience like no other! Its coral reefs are in perfect condition and you can enjoy the view on the way there, through nearby mangroves and banana plantations.

- Walk through the rainforest on the way to Red Frog Beach. You will have the opportunity to see monkeys, sloths and, of course, red frogs.
